Canarian gastronomy is excellent and you probably will not have time to visit all the best restaurants here on Gran Canaria, but we can give you a basic selection and a few recommendations of what to try. The typical canarian dish are "papas arrugadas con mojo" - wrinkley baby potatoes with typical canarian sauce made with peppers, garlic, oil and vinegar. You can also try "ropa vieja" - literally "old clothes" which is not a very nice name for a delicious stew made of chicken, beef, potatoes and chickpeas. Apart from the typical Canarian and Spanish restaurants, you can of course find international cuisine, steak houses, chinese or other oriental food places - something for every taste. So go through our restaurant guide carefully as you can also find many places for eating in combination with entertainment or our tips on Gran Canaria's nightlife and of course all the special discounts we found for you!
